State of Origin Game 1

Now I know I am very bias but seriously how cute are these boys dressed in their footy shirts. Dressed ready for the first game the boys showed off their cute jerseys at French and Mor on Wednesday while we enjoyed a very tasty morning tea.

The babycino was very basic with froth and a dusting of chocolate powder, the cakes however are to die for. Vincenzo also found what appeared to be the only toy on the cafe a gorgeous antique rocking horse. Giddy up!!

Maximus had his time in the lime light later in the evening when he posed for the camera and was posted on the Deluxe Restroom Hire Facebook site ❤️

Barista Vincenzo

Vincenzo has been asking for his own coffee machine and microwave for days now. Off we trotted down to Big W this morning to see what we could find…

Whilst looking through the toys we found this super cool dinosaur mask, Vincenzo couldn’t help himself but to try it out “raaaa”. However this was not on our shopping list so we kept searching until we discovered a Vincenzo friendly coffee machine, that actually makes a cuppa (of water)!! He has been entertained for ages now pumping out coffees for everyone. Only problem is I can’t leave him unattended with it as he has already attempted to make cheese coffee and ice cream coffee whoops 😂

Mmm chocolate

Now one would assume that taking a sweet tooth lollie-aholic child to San Churro would be like a dream come true, right? Hmm can I say that we almost had to leave before we even managed to order! Vincenzo was so overwhelmed by all the options that he eventually had a melt down, poor possum. But don’t worry he did eventually come round. However we had to sample the green mint ice-cream because you know when you are two you HAVE TO HAVE THE GREEN ONE!! No surprise though it was delicious. We also had to sample a tasting plate and babycino.

The babycino was of course nice and chocolately, made with real milk chocolate and milk mmm mmm. The glass was all but licked clean so it must have hit the spot.

The best of Stanthorpe

Short holidays are awesome when you have little ones in tow. A few days away to refresh, any longer and you start to really miss the comforts of your own child safe home. After being told that we needed to go on a holiday (thanks Daddy) we packed up our bags and half the house and headed out to the farm out near Stanthorpe.

Vincenzo kept himself busy with lots of farm chores. He loved going out on the quad bike and tractor. A highlight of this trip though was his ride on the newly acquired Thoroughbred Willow. But of course most importantly we had to try out a babycino while in town. We headed into a cozy cafe called Zest Pastries in Stanthorpe who make delicious pies and pastries. Vincenzo was kept occupied with the toys in the toy corner while we ate lunch and drank our coffees while they were hot, ahh the luxury!

The babycino at Zest Pasries was a relatively simple version with a little milk, froth and chocolate powder but it hit the spot and Vincenzo was all smiles. Sometimes less really is best!!

Pho and fire trucks

There is a first time for everything, and this was no exception.

Vincenzo loves going out, out to the shops, out to see friends, out to Daddy’s work, and especially out to restaurants and cafes.  We decided to give Daddy a real treat this day and headed on over to have lunch with him at the Nom Nom Cafe. So not only is this lunch outing super special because it’s with Daddy, it’s super special because Vincenzo and Maximus both sat in high chairs together for the very first time ♥

But it doesn’t stop there!! This is also the first time Vincenzo tried Pho (Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup consisting of broth, rice noodles, a few herbs, and meat). Unfortunately we weren’t quick enough with the camera but Vincenzo was very intrigued with the noodles and beef. He also thoroughly enjoyed making a mess with all the condiments, but hey if you can’t do it when you are two when are you going to?

This week was full of excitement…

There is many things that are exciting for little boys, one of those things are seeing a real live fire truck out the front of your home. Can you imagine just how excited Vincenzo was when a fire truck drove around the corner and pulled up in front of the house next door? He almost wet himself he was so excited… Why on earth is a fire truck in our street, well that’s because the fire alarm in the rental property next door was activated and the real-estate agent couldn’t attend, hmmm…. So anyway, QFRS have attended, checked out the property as best they could and in doing so given us all a little excitement for the afternoon. Hopefully no more fire alarms are activated any time soon.

Vincenzo’s two favourite things

Vincenzo has two favourite things he does when we go to the yacht club.

The first is helping Daddy with the boat, whether it is in the water or not. The second is having a babycino. Vincenzo will spend the entire car ride to the yacht club talking about the possibility that he may be able to have a babycino, it’s very cute.

So of course Saturday afternoon comes around and we’re off to the yatch club.

Daddy has just finished the latest race so Vincenzo helps with the tidy up and then we all head into the  QCYC Restaurant for chips and drinks. Now one could ask what makes these babycinos so special and the answer could be one of many, the special sprinkles on top, the two marshmallows, or maybe it’s just because the yacht club is one of Vincenzo’s favourite digs.

Bottoms up !!

A Sunny March morning

The Redcliffe markets are the place to be on a Sunday morning these days.

And it just so happened this particular Sunday morning we were also a little hungry. Due to Maximus having sensitives to what I was eating I was on a gluten free and dairy free diet. After walking up and down the markets and checking out most of the cafes and restaurants we finally came across a lovely little cafe called Cafe Ninety 9 that catered to our requirements.

Their breakfasts were delicious and their babycino was amazing! Vincenzo was super dooper impressed with his full sized coffee mug and extra large marshmallow. Cheers !!

Long weekends and coffee dates

Nothing starts a long weekend better than a coffee date. So off we trotted Saturday morning down to one of our favourite haunts, Scuzzi Cafe Strathpine. Vincenzo’s face lit up when he saw the marshmallows heading our way. The highlight of being a served a babycino is dropping the marshmallow into the froth before scooping it out again and gobbling it up. Yum!

What do we like about Scuzzi Cafe? Firstly the babycino is customisable, you can order a basic frothy milk babycino or you can go all out with chocolate syrup and marshmallows. Vincenzo also loves being able to run amuck in the playground right next to the cafe. Talk about good positioning!!

Yay for long weekends ♥

Where it all began

Our dear Vincenzo had his first frothy babycino at Chipmunks Lawnton. The delicious white milk mustache covered his 14 month old lips while he thoroughly enjoyed his new found treat. The best thing about babycinos at play-centers is the exciting playground sitting right there to help burn off the extra energy! Vincenzo loved the ball pit and was very adventurous flying down the slippery slides until it was time to go home.

Now I have to admit though that this isn’t the first time Vincenzo had attempted to drink from these interesting white ceramic mugs that mummy and daddy seem to always be sipping from. No, his first attempt at drinking an espresso was actually in Sérignan, France. We had traveled the thousands of kilometers with his grandfather and great grandmother to visit relatives. Now the day in question we were sitting at a small cafe enjoying espressos when Vincenzo (or maybe it was his responsible grandfather) decided it would be a marvelous idea to drink the dregs in the bottom of his grandfather’s mug. Bon appetit! And that is when Vincenzo’s love of babycinos began.
